SPEND OR SAVE: Entryway

The entryway to your home or apartment is the first impression of your space. A welcoming entryway can instantly make someone feel at home. I love the idea of a simple entryway with very little clutter, but that still makes a statement.

LOVE LETTERS TO HOME.

So once you have an inspiration image for a room you want to decorate or recreate you have to decide what you are willing to spend. You also have to decide where you want to spend your money. If you are like me, and on a tight budget, you are going to need to decide where you can make compromises. If you’re in love with that bench, you may pay full price for the bench and spend less on the other items. If you want a bold chandelier hanging in your entryway that is where you will spend your money. Here are options to recreate this room depending on where you want to spend and where you want to save.

If you bought all the splurge items the total would be $1600 and if you bought all of the save items the total would be $956. Now if you already have some of these items or similar ones you are all set! My one rule when budgeting for my home is if you love it and can’t afford it now, wait and buy it when you can. Do not waste your money on things you do not absolutely love just because you want to fill space.

  1. Ricki says:

I love baskets!!! I always have something to put in them, and they make what could be considered “clutter” much more organized and attractive =)

  2. Most of us already have a picture of our dream space in
our mind, yet it is very hard for us to execute that picture in reality.
Looking at magazines is also a very good option.
The height should be considered not just in case of chandeliers but artwork too.
