REINCARNATION: Kitchen Island Carts

David and I love to eat. I mean who doesn’t? But what we really love to do is cook. We usually cook dinner together every night, which is a great bonding and catching up time, but we need more counter space (desperately!) So we are thinking about getting a kitchen island cart to add extra storage and much needed counter space for all the fun we have in the kitchen! Ours will be pulling double duty as a kitchen island and a breakfast table for the two of us! Here are some of my favorite home-spiration images for kitchen island carts and a few of the front runners in our search!

HOME-SPIRATION: Home Library

Summertime always reminds me of the library, I know weird right? I was always the kid buried in library books and the first to sign up for those library summer reading programs. I have always wanted a bookshelf full of my favorite books (I have all of my original Harry Potter books waiting for this day!), but a whole room dedicated to reading, snuggling up with a good read and a great blanket. Here are my favorite home-spiration images for a home library!

Come on! Who wouldn't want this?

INSTAPOST: May Vacation

I have been away from the blogging world for far too long now! I decided to fully give myself a break from everything this month and just relax, sleep in and hang out, and that is exactly what I did! The month of May has been a wonderful one, but I am glad to be back to reality! We had a crazy busy month of unpacking and getting settled. We also took a trip to Gruene, Texas for Americana Music Jam at the legendary Gruene Hall, David golfed and of course I rode around with him, we made it to The Colonial golf tournament out in Ft. Worth, and we found our wedding venue!! All in all our first month of being engaged was BUSY, but so much fun!

SUNDAY INSPIRATION: Mother’s Day

LOVE LETTERS TO HOME.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!! To all the mothers, moms to be, and those who mother without realizing. I loved this quote and it is so fitting that is by MOTHER Teresa! This quote really reminds me of my own mom. She has always taught me through example to make people feel included, to encourage people, and to make them feel special. I know I always try to make everyone feel comfortable, included, and loved whether its as simple as sharing a smile or a laugh.

I will always love the mothers and grandmothers in my life for all that they have given to me. Thank you to my own mother who gave me my love of cooking and my competitive spirit. To my grandma Mary Jane who gave to me her love of jewelry and her kind heart. To my grandma Rose who gave to me her love of any card game, especially black jack and my love of reading. I am lucky enough to have gained another great mom when I met David! So to Karen, thank you for giving me the gift of eternal understanding and someone who will always have my back! And to Karen’s mother, Joyce, who recently passed, thank you for giving me the Tyler-Stephenson family, I will forever be grateful for your gifts.

Happy Mother’s Day!

REINCARNATION: Home Phone

I know David will laugh really hard at this post! I have been trying to convince him that the “home phone” is coming back, but I have yet to make him a believer. Even though I know that all we would get are telemarketer phone calls, I can’t help but love a good home phone. Here are some of my favorite home-spiration images for home phones and a few great options if you are feeling my home phone love!

HOME-SPIRATION: Hexagon Tile

So I know there has been a huge resurgence of subway tile. Everyone is using subway tile, and for good reason! It is a classic tile used as far back as 1904. It looks great in any space and is guaranteed to never go out of style, which is always my style! But besides subway tile I have really fallen in love with these hexagon shaped tiles. Here are some of my favorite home-spiration images for hexagon tiles used in almost every space!

LOVE LETTERS: We’re Engaged!

I have some amazing, incredible, exciting news!! (I really don’t think there are enough exclamation points and adjectives to describe how I feel right now typing out this post!!) Saturday night David asked me to marry him and I could not have been happier to say yes. Saturday was the perfect day of relaxing for me, I went shopping and got a mani and pedi while David golfed. We had planned to go to our favorite restaurant in Dallas (the spot David took me on our very first date) Campisi’s (the original one on Mockingbird!) I like to get ready for our dates in our guest bedroom while David gets ready in our room. I always love to pretend that its our very first date and David gets to see me when I am all ready. I usually walk down the stairs and David will tell me I look great and we will be on our way for our dinner plans. Well this Saturday was a little different, I got all dolled up and I walked down the stairs where David met me, got down on one knee and told me ever since he waited for me from the first time he took me to Campisi’s he was hoping this day would come, he said a ton more sweet and heartfelt things, and then asked me to marry him! Of course I said YES! We shared a champagne toast (he had a bottle chilled and waiting– this guy thinks of everything!) then we went to Campisi’s and shared the same meal we shared on our first date. Afterwards, we came back to our house where we celebrated the good news with our very good friends and neighbors, drinking champagne, laughing, and loving the moment. Thank you to everyone who has loved and encouraged us while we were dating, we can not wait to start this journey together!
