I have loved this picture since I saw it on Facebook and I keep picturing what type of home I would have to have to recreate this look. I feel like bold design choices like wood on a wall are kind of like that favorite daring top we keep in our closet but never seem to wear because we don’t know if we can “pull it off.” Well here is my bold choice to try and recreate this look (digitally of course!) So here goes!
First to tackle the wooden aspect of the wall I looked in to laminate flooring and how you might be able to put it on your walls at home. So of course I had to do a little digging and found this great tutorial on how to install laminate flooring on your walls at HomeDepot.com (just click on the image and it will take you to the video if you’re interested)
If you’re really unsure about the idea of a wooden wall check out magazine article on how hotels frequently use this technique!
If you’re interested try this Mohawk Antique Bark Oak Laminate Flooring for $2.95 per square foot at Home Depot! Would match the inspiration image pretty well!
Even if you’re not interested in a wooden wall near your entry way, you could paint it a bold color and still add these accessories:
This is the Ascend Taupe 55″ Open Storage Unit from Crate and Barrel for $399. Love this mounted on the wall for shoe and bag storage at the entryway!
These are great wall hooks from Anthropologie (I have a mild obsession with their hardware) These are the Light Bulb Hook Wide for $7.95 each!
This is another Anthropologie hardware option! This is their Mudroom Hook for $8.00 each.
But if you’re looking for something more like the inspiration image check out these BLECKA hooks from Ikea in stainless steel for only $5.99 for a 2 pack.
