The week of Valentine’s is all about pairs. This is the week to buy chocolates for two and of course celebrate your better half. I had to pay homage to this idea of couples and pairs with a home-spiration full of amazing double sinks. REINCARNATION: Wired

It has been way too long since I have posted! and it has been way too long since I have done a REINCARNATION post! This post all started with a love affair of wire chairs. I have recently been finding some amazing home-spiration images with great wire chairs next to rustic wooden tables. HOME-SPIRATION: Welcome Mat

With a new city on our resume we are really trying to find our new normal, our schedule and flow so that we feel more at home here. Thursday is the day that I have no classes at all and we took the day off to explore to glories of Cincinnati. As a design and art lover I have learned if you ever want to feel at home in a city find their museums and hidden gems. It will make you feel like a local! Well since I grew up in Cincinnati of course this was easy for me! We went to the Cincinnati Art Museum and went to Happy Hour at Hofbrauhaus of Newport yesterday and it was such a fun day date. If you are ever in town you will really want to see the Cincinnati Art Museum, its really an amazing part of this city. So as David and I are rolling out our own welcome mat here I thought I would share some of my favorite home-spiration images for welcome mats.

This is my favorite! Its not really a welcome mat but with all of our rainy and snowy shoes here I think this is a brilliant and stylish idea.

HOME-SPIRATION: Black Tile

When David and I recently painted our upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms we (well I did, with a few raised eyebrows from David) decided to paint the guest bathroom black. With the new white ceiling, white door, and white trim the color really popped! I love this idea of using black paint or tile to really create a dynamic color scheme. HOME-SPIRATION: Wood Burning Stove

So David and I have officially moved back to Cincinnati and WOW what a weather shock! We went from our gorgeous and mild Texas winter to BELOW ZERO temperatures. So of course I am dreaming of snuggling up next to a fireplace and having nothing to do with the outside! Our apartment is cozy and warm, but I would not mind having one of these gorgeous wood burning stoves right about now. Happy New Years Eve everyone!! David and I just got back from an AMAZING trip to Puerto Rico and we are going to be quietly ringing in the new year while packing for our last move back to Cincinnati. Of course there will be many more travel posts to come all about our recent trip! But first I wanted to share some amazing ideas and inspirations on displaying photos. So in the past nine and a half months I have definitely learned more about plumbing fixtures than I ever thought I would know, thanks to my amazing boyfriend David. I am always trying to look up and find new sinks, or bathroom fixtures and I finally found something I am completely shocked by, the wooden bathtub! I guess I am shocked that it exists and then I am shocked that I absolutely love it! HOME-SPIRATION: Chalkboard Walls

I have always been a little skeptical of chalkboard paint. Any time I think about it I always think “What a mess!” but I found some AMAZING and adorable ways to use chalkboard paint on your walls that might be worth the mess! It is such a fun and creative way to use a wall, and the beauty of chalkboard paint is that ITS PAINT, and can always be painted over!

 

Maybe the key to a chalkboard paint wall is a GORGEOUS typeface?

Of course it is perfect for any children’s bedroom because it can change and grow with them!

As a preppy girl myself, I have always loved a little herringbone fabric hanging in my closet. My new obsession now though is the idea of the herringbone pattern in flooring.
