If you know me at all, you know that I love any excuse to celebrate and of course any excuse to eat sweets. This is why Valentine’s Day is the most perfect holiday in the world! Here are some of my favorite sweet-spirations for this Valentine’s Day week!

WEDDING WEDNESDAY: Valentine’s Day Wedding

Some say that a Valentine’s Day wedding, the day where all things glitter pink and cupid flies around, might be a cheesy day to pick for your special moment, but this Valentine’s Day I dare to defy that! I found some amazing Valentine’s day weddings that are delightfully stylish and sophisticated. Never let a cliche or misconceptions others have prevent you from having the wedding of your dreams!

HOME-SPIRATION: Double Sinks

The week of Valentine’s is all about pairs. This is the week to buy chocolates for two and of course celebrate your better half. I had to pay homage to this idea of couples and pairs with a home-spiration full of amazing double sinks. I think that most of us who live with our significant other know that one of the keys to a very happy home life is double sinks! Here are some of my favorite double sink h0me-spirations…

HOLIDAY HAPPY HOUR: The Lady In Red

Valentine’s Day is always the perfect day to share a cocktail and a box of chocolates. Here is one of my favorite holiday cocktails.

THE LADY IN RED COCKTAIL.

INGREDIENTS:

1.5  ounces of Maker’s Mark

1 ounce of POM Pomegranate Juice

half ounce of fresh squeezed lemon juice

Chilled Ginger Beer

Combine lemon juice, pomegranate juice and

bourbon in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.Shake vigorously for a minute

then pour over ice in a rocks glass and top off with ginger beer.

I hope everyone had a HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! I love to celebrate any holiday and this is how I spent my day yesterday…

I baked my favorite kind of cookie (Peanut Butter Blossoms) with a Valentine’s Day twist! And brought them to work!

And I got a delightful package from my Mom and Dad! A Lilly Pulitzer dress and makeup! Who needs a boyfriend when you have the best Valentines around?!

And I treated myself to a little Valentine’s Day gift. A small gold necklace of the state of Texas. Love Love Love.

No matter how you celebrate… I hope you have a FANTASTIC day!

HOLIDAY: Simple Valentine’s Day Cocktails

If you haven’t figured this out yet… I am celebrating Valentine’s day all week long. Valentine’s day posts will accompany my regular posts for the week hopefully all week long! Here are a few SIMPLE ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day by sippin’ away!

ACCESSORIZE! Use cute drink accessories to make a cocktail more festive. Pink Rock candy, or strawberries cut like hearts. Pink Pixie stick dust would be perfect to rim glasses with!

Create cute names of your favorite drinks. Drinking a Be-Mine Martini or My Funny Valentine is way more festive!

Always make sure there is a drink for him! No guy wants to drink a frilly pink drink… so try this Sparkling Cherry Bourbon drink that might be a little bit more up his alley.

 

MY FAVORITE VALENTINES DRINK RECIPES:

 

SPARKLING CHERRY BOURBON

1 oz. Know Creek Bourbon Whiskey

2 oz. Knudsen’s Sparkling Cherry Juice (in the juice aisle!)

Fresh cherries for garnish

 

RASPBERRY CHAMPAGNE

*just a glass filled with your favorite champagne and a tiny scoop of raspberry sorbet

 

LOVERS LANE

2 ounces Godiva Chocolate Raspberry Vodka

1/4 ounce orange liqueur

1/2 ounce fresh lime juice

Raspberries for garnish

HOLIDAY: Holiday Decorating on a Budget

So every holiday deserves to be celebrated, but all of us living on a budget know that its not that easy to get in the holiday spirit on a dime. Here are a few tips on making your home look great for Valentine’s Day (or any holiday for that matter) that will be inexpensive and last a long time!

When in doubt, hand make a few decorations to spice up your space. Create garland of paper hearts or even Valentine’s Day cards you have received in the past. Simple and very cost effective.

When I have my own home I always want to have a wreath up! They are an easy way to make your house a little more homey. They are easily stored and definitely easy to put up and take down!

I know it sounds crazy… but after each holiday is a great time to stock up on decorations for the next year! They usually have AMAZING discounts on decorations because they are trying to move in the next season’s merchandise. Definitely check this out at Target, Walmart, or any home goods store.
